MN: Milan insist on signing Benfica starlet Florentino; total agreement close

By Isak Möller -

Florentino Luis continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan. As reported by MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri are in talks with Benfica to sign the 20-year-old this summer, reinforcing the midfield to fit the youth revolution.

In January, Milan made a serious attempt to sign the youngster but Benfica eventually stopped it all. However, the Rossoneri continued to work under the radar and an agreement has been reached on the formula: a loan with an option to buy.

There is still no agreement on the figures, also because of the Coronavirus outbreak, but the clubs are working on it. Benfica didn’t want to sell him in January because they thought Florentino could become important in the second part of the season.

In reality, though he only took the field twice before the league was suspended. Both Serie A and La Liga NOS could resume very soon, and thus the clubs have put all negotiations on hold until after the season is over.

Florentino has convinced Milan and as happened with Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez, they are ready to insist and invest. In addition to fitting the parameters of Elliott Management, the midfielder would also be suitable for Ralf Rangnick’s ideas.
