MN: Milan keeping tabs on Atalanta star for right-wing position – the latest

By Isak Möller -

In addition to a playmaker, Milan would also like to sign a right-winger before the end of the transfer window. Samu Castillejo hasn’t been prolific enough and he could also leave the club this summer.

According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri have set their eyes on Josip Ilicic. They have followed the Slovenian for quite some time now and his price tag is reasonable. That is due to his age (33) and the fact that his contract with Atalanta will next summer.

Ilicic, as the report continues, could be the right man to alternate with Alexis Saelemaekers on the right flank. As we know, the Atalanta star can also play in the No.10 role behind the striker, which is a bonus.

Of course, the exit of Castillejo still has to be sorted and it seems a return to Spain is the most viable option. A few clubs have been mentioned and hopefully, an official offer will arrive.

  1. Ilicic will certainly not be able to play that position, but he will be able to do much more in the position of the classic ten below the attackers

  2. Provided we get a quality CAM like Vlasic/Sabitzer.
I am fine with a short term deal for Ilicic tbh. Not a lot of money left for us for a top quality RW but for the time being he is good enough.

    1. He is better than Sabitzer, he has extreme football intelligence, something Sabitzer is missing to be anything over average in the playmaker position.
