MN: Milan knew about Maldini’s interview – why the director attacked Rangnick

By Oliver Fisher -

Paolo Maldini’s words to ANSA about Ralf Rangnick earlier on Monday made a lot of noise in the media and among the Milan fanbase.

Maldini’s words on the German of a few weeks ago should not be forgotten, as the technical director said Rangnick “is not the right profile for Milan”.

He then hit out at the Red Bull chief again this morning in a staggering interview, stating: “Speaking of a role with full managerial powers in both the sports and technical areas, Rangnick invades areas where professionals work with regular contracts.

“I would therefore have a piece of advice for him, before learning Italian he should give a review to general concepts of respect.”

According to what MilanNews are reporting, the club was informed that its technical director would make statements to the well-known agency.

Maldini’s goal was to respond to Rangnick’s continuous allusive statements regarding the links with a job at Milan. The former Rossoneri captain wanted to expose those statements as ones which could destabilise the balance within the team and the club, engaged in the difficult management of the recovery of post lock-down training.
