Failing to impress in his second season with AC Milan, Lucas Paqueta is expected to leave the club this summer. Before it’s too late, the Rossoneri want to avoid making a huge loss, having spent €38m in January last year.
According to MilanNews.it, there isn’t a lack of suitors for the Brazilian midfielder, not even abroad. Benfica have followed him since the days at Flamengo and Milan would like to include Florentino Luis in the negotiations.
The Portuguese side, however, aren’t interested in giving up their jewel in return for Paqueta, especially considering the latter’s salary. In Italy, the likes of Roma and especially Fiorentina are monitoring the situation.
Milan don’t want to sell the player for anything less than €30m, which would keep them from making a loss on the balance sheet. However, even before the Coronavirus, this was a tough task. Now, of course, it’s even more complicated.
