MN: Milan management aware the squad is not yet complete – five more signings wanted

By Oliver Fisher -

There are now just 20 days until AC Milan’s first game of the season against Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, and the squad is not yet close to being complete.

As MilanNews writes, directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have identified the roles that need reinforcements with several positions highlighted. It starts with a right-back who will act as deputy to Davide Calabria, as well as a new winger winger to alternate with Alexis Saelemaekers on the right side as Samu Castillejo is destined to leave.

Another crucial role for the 4-2-3-1 system is the attacking midfielder spot and after Hakan Calhanoglu’s departure, the management will have to secure a quality substitute who will be able to form a pair of quality playmakers with Brahim Diaz.

The management also want to give Stefano Pioli another useful midfielder given that in January 2022 both Kessie and Bennacer will be at the African Cup of Nations for a few weeks. Finally, Maldini and Massara’s idea is to secure a third young striker alongside veterans Ibrahimovic and Giroud.
