MN: Milan management face a tough call as one spot is open for two wingers

AC Milan’s lack of quality on the right wing threatened to hurt them in their Scudetto pursuit and now the management have a tough decision to make.

On one flank Rafael Leao alone led Milan to win the title with big goals and important assists, while on the other side Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias never fully convinced, experiencing difficulties in the most crucial moments of the season.

MilanNews confirms the earlier reports suggesting that Marco Asensio is a name that pleases both Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara but there are two problems: the €30m asking price of Real Madrid and the player’s salary demands.

If on the one hand Milan are working on the new starter for the right wing, on the other hand they are also discussing who will stay out of Saelemaekers or Messias. The Belgian is younger and more flexible but because of this he has a bigger market and could generate a capital gain on the €7m paid to sign him.

The Brazilian is also liked by the management but the cost of making the loan move a permanent deal is considered too high given that Crotone are now in Serie C and he is in his 30s. Tough decisions must therefore be made.
