AC Milan could go back in for Inter winger Matteo Politano after his move to Roma collapsed, according to a report.
A number of outlets reported on Friday that the swap deal between Roma and Inter – which would see full-back Leonardo Spinazzola move to the Nerazzuri in exchange for Politano – has hit the rocks.
The two players have even returned to the capital and to Milano respectively, with Inter having been responsible for the breakdown due to their will to insert another clause into the deal.
Milan have been linked with a move for Politano as Gianluca Di Marzio broke the news last week that Politano – who has a €25m valuation – has agreed to move across the city and join the Rossoneri from the Nerazzurri.
According to the latest from MilanNews.it, Politano has not lost hope of leaving Inter this month as he does not have an important role in Antonio Conte’s plans.
His entourage have kept the option of a move to Milan open, with Paolo Maldini and co. observing any and all developments. The player would prefer a move to Roma, but is not against the idea of joining Milan either – especially given the relationship between Inter and the capital club appears to be frayed.
