MN: Milan must overturn poor recent home record against Napoli

AC Milan will welcome Napoli to the San Siro on Sunday as they look to take a step in the right direction to fix their recent record against the Neapolitan outfit at home.

This has been a strange season for the Partenopei for several reasons. Aurelio De Laurentiis has publicly told how he dealt with Rudi Garcia in the latest instalment of Napoli’s problems, which all, ultimately, stem from Luciano Spalletti’s departure.

As MilanNews writes, the Scudetto holders have had a difficult time this season finding their, or even any, identity following Spalletti’s departure. However bad they may have been this season, though, they hold a record that hangs over Milan, which has to be rectified.

Although the Rossoneri have been victorious much more than Napoli have in this fixture, you have to go back to the 2014-15 season to find the last win at the San Siro.

The game will require everyone to be at their best. However, Stefano Pioli may look to Olivier Giroud first and foremost, given he has scored five goals in four games against the Azzurri, which makes the side his favourite opposition, and is currently enjoying, arguably, his best season in Italy on paper.
