MN: Milan must regain defensive stability after struggles in last three league games

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan must regain some of their defensive solidity if they are to keep their run going in Serie A into a difficult stretch of games, a report has claimed.

Milan have been excellent in the league this season as they have amassed 25 points across 9 games, dropping points only against Juventus away from home. However, MilanNews writes how the last 3 outings in the league have raised some worries despite the wins recorded as the Rossoneri have conceded 6 goals.

The 3-2 wins against Atalanta and Hellas Verona either side of the international break was followed up by a 4-2 victory against Bologna, and it is unrealistic to expect that the team can always outscore their opponents.

Torino will arrive at San Siro tomorrow night, a team that have scored 12 and have only conceded 10 times in their opening nine games, so for Milan there will be an opportunity to play the game and try to win without conceding. Andrea Belotti, Antonio Sanabria and Josip Brekalo will look to try and upset the applecart at San Siro.

Milan have the second best defence in Serie A joint with Roma on nine conceded goals, with Spalletti’s Napoli leading on three goals conceded. It starts between the posts with Ciprian Tatarusanu having taken over from the injured Mike Maignan, but the rotating of Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli plus Theo Hernandez’s absence due to Covid have not helped the continuity.
