MN: Milan need to bank €23m to avoid loss on Lyon target – the situation

The future of Lucas Paqueta is yet to be decided. Arriving in January 2019, the Brazilian impressed during his first six months but has since failed to replicate it, and Milan are now looking to cash in.

According to MilanNews.it, as has been widely reported in the last 24 hours, Lyon are interested in Paqueta as sporting director Juninho is a fan. However, they are yet to make any official moves for the midfielder.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are waiting for the first approach, seemingly keen on closing the Paqueta chapter. In order to avoid a capital loss on the balance sheet, they will have to bank at least €23m from the 23-year-old’s departure.

Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of Lyon, branded the news as ‘false information’ on his Twitter page earlier today. It remains to be seen if that is part of a strategy to lower Milan’s price tag, which is already low compared to what they spent.
