MN: Milan prepare improved deal for star midfielder as several teams lurk – the latest

By Isak Möller -

As we saw towards the end of last season, Franck Kessie has been absolutely crucial for Milan and Stefano Pioli this season as well, playing alongside Ismael Bennacer. Of course, the Rossoneri don’t want to lose him now.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, the club recently approached Kessie’s agent to speak about a contract renewal for the first time. The intention is to reach an economic agreement with the player and avoid any last-year struggles.

The midfielder’s contract will expire in 2022 and Paolo Maldini plans to offer a two-year renewal, thus until 2024, with a salary adjustment. Kessie has always had interest from abroad and ended up on West Ham and Monaco’s radars a year ago.

Today, however, the list of potential suitors has increased along with the player’s performances on the pitch. Milan, though, absolutely want to keep him and build the future together with him as one of the pillars.
