MN: Milan’s interest in Rabiot is ‘real, true, concrete, quite alive’ – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

There continues to be conflicting reports regarding Adrien Rabiot, and the latest one claims that AC Milan are very much still in the running to sign him.

Earlier today, Calciomercato.com claimed that Milan have dropped out of the Rabiot race because his mother-agent Veronique wants €9m net per season from Adrien’s next club and that he has his heart set on Real Madrid.

However, MilanNews state that all is not lost yet. It won’t be a simple negotiation but the Rossoneri’s interest in Rabiot is ‘real, true, concrete, quite alive’. The Frenchman – currently playing for his country at the 2024 European Championship – is waiting to find out his future.

At the moment the main assumption is that he will leave Juve because they have already signed Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram for the department and they do not want to offer him more than €7m net while Rabiot, beyond the economic aspect, feels the time has come for a change of scenery.

Milan are waiting with interest. From what we can see in the last few days, the management are following the evolution of the Rabiot-Juventus situation very closely, ready to launch a decisive attack if the break-up is confirmed.

Rabiot’s salary would be high by Milan’s internally imposed limits, but it could be helped by the Growth Decree and the fact he would arrive on a free.

At the European Championship Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan are dragging France, and who knows if they are not talking to their compatriot about the idea of playing together at club level.

  1. I’m curious where the Frenchies of Milan stand on this. Is it possible to bring Rabiot in to keep the French contingent strong and create and stable environment for the likes of Theo and Maignan to be more likely to stay?

9mil is a No Go of course. But I’m just curious what the internal dynamics are. He is vastly experienced and was often the bright spot in Juves crap roster.

  2. I’m sure Milan’s interest is very much real and not in any way fabricated by his mother in order to try to create some sort of leverage in negotiations with other clubs. Yes, absolutely very sure of this indeed.

  3. 9 mil is not too crazy for Rabiot on a free. That would be like signing him for 27 million which is well below his worth. 7 million is the more fair proposal for the player he is, but there will always be a certain tax on players without a transfer fee. Only downside is that Their & Maignan would demand salaries on that level as well. But I’d say Their should get around 7 or 8 while Maignan should not get that same package 👌
