AC Milan are trying to see if AZ Alkmaar can be convinced to accept a lower transfer fee for Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, a report claims.
As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri want to see whether the Eredivisie side can accept a lower offer than the €18 million minimum that they have requested for Reijnders.
Milan have already agreed on personal terms with Reijnders as he will earn €1.7 million per season on a five-year deal. The next step is to find an agreement with AZ.
There is a theory that Billy Beane, a consultant of Gerry Cardinale’s could be the key to the deal. He holds a minority stake in AZ and could influence the club in Milan’s favour.
Milan will almost certainly still need to meet the €18m figure for Reijnders but they could try to structure it in a more favourable way than just a lump sum.
If he’s the guy they want, just pay up and get it done. Every time they faff about with the asking price, another club comes in and steals the player.
yeah man just waste money, what good advice, you must be a billionaire.
What happens in professional sports is players are assets and Milan have their own system (like every other football club in the world) of assigning value to those assets. The problem with how Sempre Milan reports these links is they present the value of a player as something concrete and devoid of subjectivity. Milan obviously don’t feel a young promising player from Holland is worth the same as a young promising player from la liga and to that extent can you blame them for feeling that way.
What’s also important to note is Milan are not going to pay PL prices for unproven players any more i.e. CDK. Milan trying to lower the price is standard practice during negotiations over the exchange of assets for capital. Another important point to note is all these writers seem to forget that over the last decade one league has gained the financial power to spend without constraints. And to meet any asking price regardless of how outrageous it is. PL clubs don’t have to haggle over a few million here or there because they will make a profit or never be sanctioned by UEFA regardless of how much they spend. FFP killed any opportunity for the other top 4 leagues in Europe to compete on equal footing with the PL over player signings. Those are facts and if you want to continue to be happy supporting a non-EPL club you’re going to have to accept that reality.
Milan can get him for 9mil and send a talent on loan towards Az
it doesnt work like that
cool story bro
