Ante Rebic has been an important player for AC Milan over the last two and a half seasons. His performances in the second half of the season have always been great, which bodes for a good start to 2022.
That was the theme for his first two seasons with the club, at least, but this campaign he has also done well in the first half. He’s currently at two goals and two assists but it most likely would have been more without the injuries.
In fact, he has missed a total of 15 games for the Rossoneri this season, which says a lot. As highlighted by MilanNews, the absence of the Croatian has been felt for Milan, who only registered three wins in seven games at the end of this year.
Obviously, there are other causes to this decline as well, but it goes without saying that Rebic is a very important player for the team. His pressing is unmatched in the defensive phase and his physicality on the left has been missed.
Stefano Pioli is hoping that he will have the No.12 back in the coming days, perhaps already for the game against Roma. There’s no point in rushing his return now, though.
