MN: Milan hoping to have star defender back against Chelsea and Juventus

By Isak Möller -

Theo Hernandez sustained a muscle injury in the 1-2 defeat against Napoli and could miss the game against Chelsea after the break. AC Milan are hoping to have him back, though, as a report claims.

The Frenchman was a key player for the Rossoneri in the absence of Rafael Leao, assisting Olivier Giroud for the equaliser. Milan deserved more from the game and it’s especially bitter given the injury sustained.

According to Antonio Vitiello, Hernandez will certainly miss the game against Empoli but Milan are hoping to have him back against Chelsea and Juventus. It would be a huge blow to not have him available, considering the importance of the games.

Fode Ballo-Toure is the natural replacement in the squad but he hasn’t really played that much this season, nor has he impressed when given the chance. And Hernandez is extremely hard to replace, as we know.

Even though an injury is always unfortunate, the timing is at least good given the international break.

  1. Yes that’s not good news as his form as the moment is excellent ,not only as his defensive duties ,but also linking up so well to support Giroud if need be ..
So let’s hope he will be fine very soon ..So pleased with Olivier Girouds form also ..still in very good shape at 35 and more goals to come from him for sure …Leao will be back also .so good news .
