MN: Milan still believe in Pellegri after difficult start – U21 call-up provides confidence boost

AC Milan have not seen anything close to the best of Pietro Pellegri, but there is still time for the young striker to recover from his difficult start and convince the club to buy him.

MilanNews writes that Pellegri did not expect to receive a call from Italy U21 head coach Paolo Nicolato, who has summoned him for the friendly against Romania that the Azzurrini will play next week. It serves as confirmation that even on an international level the 20-year-old is seen as a striker with huge potential, whose talent has never been questioned.

Pellegri needs to go back to believing in his potential and this will be a big confidence boost for him. His start to his loan spell at Milan has been hampered by the many physical problems so some good luck is needed in that sense, but this could be looked back on as a moment where he turned a corner.

Obviously the competition from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud means it will not be easy to get game time even when fully fit, but Pellegri has the right talent to become useful and Milan have a lot of belief in him.
