MN: Milan turn to Lenglet – his situation with Aston Villa and Barcelona

By Oliver Fisher -

Another source have confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa.

MilanNews report that the morning the Mundo Deportivo talked about how Milan have enquired about Lenglet, who is at Villa on loan until the end of the season but is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for them.

This discretion has been confirmed, the report claims, and is driven by the Rossoneri’s need to find a central defender cause of the injuries of Kalulu, Thiaw and Pellegrino (in addition to the situation of Kjaer).

Lenglet is one of the profiles probed but the situation is not entirely linear: the defender is on loan at Aston Villa, who have so far only used him in Conference League, and it will therefore be necessary to understand whether the Premier League club are willing to end the loan or not.

In the even Lenglet returns to Barcelona, they would have to accept two conditions: the first, given the footballer’s high salary, is that of taking on a significant percentage of the total wages. The second is that they accept the formula that Milan would propose, i.e. a loan with option to buy.

  1. How about no? Not good enough even for backup. This management needs to understand that players they consider experienced. They are not . People and fans know he’s not good also he’s not even in the national team for long time ago. So how about find young.exciting player or someone younger that other known teams scout. Like todibo lacroix bade debast simakan Vivian Esteve Theate Danso Kossounou Tapsoba hancko

    1. Well they said the same about Kjaer and he used to ride the bench at Atalanta and Sevilla. We rejuvenated his career. Maybe we can do the same for Clement. There’s a reason Barcelona bought him. he has quality.

      1. He had quality when he was 23 yrs old now at 30 he’s washed up. In Sevilla wasn’t riding the bench but Sevilla wanted faster defenders so… No he didn’t do well twice in pl one in la liga so he isn’t a good player just an overpriced player

    2. I think the whole point of whoever we get at CB in January is someone who is first-team ready. Say what you will about Lenglet, but he’s got a lot of experience and 15 caps for France. It would be stupid and pointless to sign an 18 year old since we already have Simic, Bertesaghi and Nsiala-Makengo. We’re trying to win games now, not have 11 “young and exciting” 18 year olds running around being “young and exciting” as we lose to Salernitana.

      1. Young and exciting aren’t only 18 yr old also simic nsiala barteseghi are not going to play under Pioli. I’m talking about Esteve Theate Danso Kossounou Tapsoba hancko lacroix

      2. This guy us useless, can’t get in the Aston villa team and Barca don’t want him, so why are ee interested ???
We should be looking at Buongiorno at Torino
