MN: Milan turn to Lenglet – his situation with Aston Villa and Barcelona

Another source have confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa.

MilanNews report that the morning the Mundo Deportivo talked about how Milan have enquired about Lenglet, who is at Villa on loan until the end of the season but is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for them.

This discretion has been confirmed, the report claims, and is driven by the Rossoneri’s need to find a central defender cause of the injuries of Kalulu, Thiaw and Pellegrino (in addition to the situation of Kjaer).

Lenglet is one of the profiles probed but the situation is not entirely linear: the defender is on loan at Aston Villa, who have so far only used him in Conference League, and it will therefore be necessary to understand whether the Premier League club are willing to end the loan or not.

In the even Lenglet returns to Barcelona, they would have to accept two conditions: the first, given the footballer’s high salary, is that of taking on a significant percentage of the total wages. The second is that they accept the formula that Milan would propose, i.e. a loan with option to buy.
