MN: Milan unlikely to sign a right-back to cover Florenzi’s injury

AC Milan are not likely to sign cover for Alessandro Florenzi despite rumours suggesting otherwise, according to a report.

Florenzi could be set for an extended period on the sidelines as Stefano Pioli has admitted that the muscle injury he sustained during last night’s 0-0 draw against Sassuolo does not look good.

The full-back was chasing a ball that landed over his shoulder and he instantly pulled up grimacing in pain, and it seems ‘fairly serious’ as per the Milan boss.

Reports then emerged suggesting a right-back like Davide Zappacosta or Gabriele Zappa could be signed in order to provide cover given the hectic schedule coming up between now and the World Cup.

MilanNews report that in the past few hours there has been talk of the possible arrival of another full-back, but the Rossoneri are currently unlikely to go out and sign a replacement for the Italy international.

It must be remembered that Pierre Kalulu can shift over to right-back if needed, while Alexis Saelemaekers has also played that role too during his time at Milan and prior at Anderlecht.
