MN: Milan aiming to close deal for Valencia man at €25m after intensifying talks

AC Milan are aiming to improve their midfield department after Sandro Tonali’s now imminent sale and they are in concrete talks over Yunus Musah.

That is according to MilanNews, who report that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected in Milano this evening ahead of his medical tomorrow, but the Englishman will not be enough on his own to fix the midfield.

The Rossoneri are intensifying its contacts with Valencia to try and sign Musah, a 20-year-old USA international but who has an an Italian passport. The Spanish club are willing to sell for the right price and contacts have intensified.

Valencia are currently asking for around €30m to sell Musah but it is a negotiable figure, and the Rossoneri management are aiming to try and strike a deal at around the €25m mark.

Musah made 33 LaLiga appearances last season in what was a difficult campaign for Valencia, failing to score but amassing two assists.

  1. Seems like a waste of money.. Not the type Milan needs.
Napoli is getting Samardzic, wouldnt you rather invest 20+ in an italian like Baldanzi?

      1. We do. What i said, and it went over your head, is that Musah is more AM than DM. So why not Baldanzi?
Now they will buy a dude to play dm and he will be like pobega, lost and benched eventually.

You do know valenica played 433 last season, right? And that musah was in a mezzala role not dm, right?

        1. Valencia play him in the wrong role, which is clear every time he showcases his quality as a lone 6 or part of a double pivot with the USA national team. That is what should be the expectation if he comes to Milan.

  2. RLC and him are no improvements, this is just patching up after Tonali’s f*ck up. This one is just more expensive Vranckx. Great job.

  3. I don’t know anything about musah other than YouTube videos. For people that ACTUALLY know him, is he good or not? Can he instantly be a starter and improve the mid?

    1. His numbers say he is not that good. Only two assists. And both of those came in the same game where Valencia trashed Getafe 5-1. Other than that he plays in a more attacking position in Valencia and isn’t showing some great defensive ability in order to be a good DM in Milan. From what i saw he has some movement like Bennacer but cant dribble or pass/shoot like Bennacer. In fact his passing shooting accuarcy looks really bad even in higlights. Compare that with Tonali who scored 2 and made 10 assists from a DM position this looks like a huge downgrade.

    2. I didn’t watch him at Valencia, but I was really impressed with him at the World Cup for the US. He stood out to me and every single game they played. Physically strong, calm on the ball and decent vision.

      1. Physically decently strong, really not much though i bet rlc can push this guy around. Slow and sluggish and below average passing. Sorry had to correct your post.

    3. My brother is a Valencia fan and watches all the games. He says that he’s good as.a mezzala im a 3 man midfield, but when they switched to 4-2-3-1 and he played as a DM he lost his starting spot.
He says that he was better when he was younger but now he’s stalling.

    4. He’s below average. Lets just put it this way.. Krunic will look like a SUPERSTAR next to this overhyped American. He is nothing more than a 5~7 mil player. We are losing Amrabat and Samardzic for this loser. There is a reason Valencia’s was 16th despite having an average defense and a fairly ok attack. The midfield was AWFUL AF.

  4. Just wait and see for next season… If he is to be placed in the 2 DM position then numbers won’t be that important anyway.

It’s more interesting if he is good enough passer with great physicality, so we won’t get bullied next season.

But after RLC I prefer if we signed someone more established like Amrabat for DM thou. As of now we have 4 (Krunic, Pobega, Bennacer and RLC) but if this kid live to his potential he can possibly be better than Amrabat.

  5. Wow what a waste. We have straight swapped Tonali for RLC and Musah…. what a trash piece of transfers….

  6. 120M from UCL and 65M from Tonali and we still won’t purchase a PROVEN established players.

So if we pay 30M for this player and he has a bad year (similar to CDK) does that mean Furlani will get sacked? Lol

    What a joke

    What a joke.

  7. Maybe if we spend less than €20M for him, its fair. But we still need a world class EU Midfield like Tonalli, maybe for 30-40 M. And…with one of Guler/Chukwueze in front, we will be stronger this season! 😎
