MN: Milan want to fill important gap in squad and could end up signing Chelsea quartet

AC Milan want to complete their midfield department ahead of the new season and could end up buying four players from Chelsea, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will remain the two starters heading into next season, with Rade Krunic or the returning Tommaso Pobega as emergency options at the moment, and two spots therefore to fill.

One of those is expected to be filled by Sandro Tonali as Milan are in talks over signing him permanent from Brescia with president Massimo Cellino. Maldini has asked for a discount on the amount agreed last season and it seems the Rossoneri will save about €10m on the deal, and he will be the first replacement for Kessie and Bennacer.

For the role of fourth midfielder, Tiemouè Bakayoko’s name has returned to the newspaper headlines again after he was on loan at Milan in the 2018-19 season. Milan also want his two team-mates Olivier Giroud and Hakim Ziyech after having signed Fikayo Tomori from the Blues. Maldini and Massara, in fact, could conclude a quadruple operation with Chelsea. Bakayoko, if he arrived, would fill the spot vacated by Meitè.
