Lucas Paqueta said goodbye to AC Milan in the summer of 2020 as he joined Lyon on a permanent basis. While his spell with the Rossoneri wasn’t great, he could now earn the club some more money.
Lyon paid around €20m plus bonuses to secure the services of the Brazilian midfielder, who has done really well for the club thus far. As highlighted by MilanNews, Milan are now watching on with great interest as Paqueta could be sold.
In fact, the Rossoneri included a future resale clause when they sold the 24-year-old to the French side, amounting to 15%. The likes of Newcastle and Tottenham are keeping tabs on the situation, per the report, and that’s good news for Milan.
In the event that Lyon sell Paqueta for around €35m, for example, Milan would get €5.25m. It’s nice a huge figure by any means but still a nice bonus that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara can use for some of their mercato pursuits.
