MN: Milan’s probable XI for Bologna clash – Pioli prioritises Napoli game

By Oliver Fisher -

Yet another report has emerged claiming that AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will make 10 changes to the line-up for tomorrow’s game against Bologna.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, the ten outfield players will change for the match at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara with an eye on next Tuesday’s second leg against Napoli.

In defence Alessandro Florenzi, Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fode Ballo-Toure are tipped to form the back four with Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori and Theo Hernandez getting a rest. Aster Vranckx and Tommaso Pobega should come in for Tonali and Krunic.

In attack Alexis Saelemaekers and Ante Rebic are expected to be on the flanks in Brahim and Leao’s place, with Charles De Ketelaere in for Bennacer and Divock Origi in for Giroud.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kalulu, Thiaw, Ballo-Toure; Vranckx, Pobega; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Rebic; Origi.

Bench: Mirante, Tatarusanu, Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Tonali, Bennacer, Bakayoko, Adli, Krunic, Messias, Diaz, Leao, Giroud

    1. That’s not rotating, that’s an entirely different team.

Have these players even played together much at this level?

Surely we can play some of the players who were rested against Empoli and that would be less disruptive?

      1. Yeah it’s crazy and unnecessary. We’re going all in for the CL and we’re going to end up not winning that and out of the top 4. Pioli will be an easy scapegoat. Maybe we will still have a chance at De Zerbi before Inter grab him. Silver linings…

  1. Should adli replace rebic. Last seri A match, both rebic and origi only like a clown on the field. After all with heavily rotate like this, milan will lose this match. I guess…

  2. Thought there was no need for the Empoli rotation, but this is actually justified. We just happen to have carelessly dropped so many points it just puts top 4 at risk. But hopefully they perform, i will take a draw at worse.

  3. Yes I think rotating is needed even though of course it’s a risk ,but Rebec and Origi so so disappointing,.
We have to prioritise the match against Napoli..
I just got a feeling that we might get a result against Bologna.. I still think we will finish in the top four in the league and we will knock Napoli out of the champions leauge ..We are AC Milan .
