MN: Milan yet to decide new Primavera manager but identikit is clear

By Isak Möller -

Ignazio Abate recently announced that he will leave AC Milan’s Primavera side and work is now underway to find his replacement. And while there are no obvious candidates for now, the identikit is clear.

Abate brought the Primavera to new heights with his style of playing, first reaching the UEFA Youth League semi-final and then the final one year later. History was made, in short, and Milan are now hoping to build on this success.

However, it will be without the 38-year-old as he announced his departure after the final game of the season. According to MilanNews, there are no obvious candidates for now but the identikit is very clear: an Abate-esque manager is needed.

In more concrete terms, Milan need a manager who can create an identity for the team and get all of the players on the same side. Being able to integrate younger players is also a key aspect, given that Abate often gave youngsters the chance with his ‘baptism of fire’.

Replacing Abate will be far from easy, but the Rossoneri are hoping that the overall structure will help whoever arrives to take over the team. Of course, once there are concrete candidates, you will be able to read about it on our site.
