MN: Milan’s alarming drop off compared to Inter, Atalanta and others over the last 10 games

By Oliver Fisher -

There are some worrying trends emerging in 2021 for AC Milan that threatens to undo all the good work from the previous year.

As MilanNews writes, after an excellent first round ended in first place Stefano Pioli’s side have slowed down in terms of league form quite sharply, with Saturday’s draw against Sampdoria just the latest disappointment.

Milan have already lost four games at home this calendar year and all of them were damaging too, as defeats against Juventus, Atalanta, Inter and Napoli gave points to teams around the Rossoneri, while draws against Udinese and Samp and an away defeat to Spezia did not help.

In the last 10 games, the Rossoneri have obtained 17 points, the result of 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. In fact, in the same numbers of matches, virtually all Milan’s rivals did better as Inter (28), Atalanta (22), Napoli (22), Lazio (21) and Juventus (20) all emerged with more. In this period therefore, Milan have picked up 11 points less than Inter, and that is why the title race has vanished.
