MN: Milan’s buzzword is continuity – summer business begins with three crucial renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s summer business will begin with contract extensions for three of 2019-20’s best performers, according to a report.

MilanNews notes that Milan are active in view of next season but not just in terms of new signings, rather locking down three pillars of Stefano Pioli’s resurgent side.

The priority is the prolongation of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s stay, and the dialogues are very advanced. The report claims that only a few details need to be resolved but the economic agreement is there on the basis of a fixed net salary of €4.5-5million with bonuses related to appearances, goals and a top four finish.

Then there are the contracts of Donnarumma and Calhanoglu, which however have a deadline of June 2021.

For the Turkey international there is optimism that a deal could be struck at €2.5-3m net per season plus bonuses, and the willingness of both the player and the club is to reach a deal.

As for Gigio, the starting point could be around €6m, but a release clause could be inserted. We have not yet entered the heart of the discussion but even in this case the club knows that they will have to do their best to keep him.
