MN: Milan’s market ready to take off – three renewals, six targets and five departures

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set for a busy summer transfer window, a report claims, with plenty of incomings and outgoings expected.

As MilanNews notes, Simon Kjaer and Alexis Saelemaekers are the two official purchases that have arrived so far as both have had their loans turned into permanent deals.

Kjaer cost €3.5m, while the Belgian cost €7m in total when factoring in loan fee too. They are on deals until 2022 and 2024 respectively.

At present, the priority of the Rossoneri management is the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Negotiations are proceeding quickly as Ibra wants to stay at Milan and the club want to continue with him, so there is great optimism that an agreement will be found.

Regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma, the issue is very important but less urgent. Again the will of both parties is to find an agreement, and talks are ongoing over the bonuses to be included.

Finally, contacts with Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent are ongoing too. The Turkey international is on a deal until 2021, so his extension is a matter of urgency.

In terms of signings, the priorities are certainly a new right-back and a central midfielder who can alternate with Kessie and Bennacer in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1.

Serge Aurier (Tottenham), Denzel Dumfries (PSV) and Emerson Royal (Barcelona) are right-back targets, while for the midfield Florentino Luis (Benfica), Bakayoko (Chelsea) and Marc Roca (Espanyol) are the names on the wish list.

After the farewells of Jack Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia, there are no players in the squad particularly close to leaving Milan, but Reina, Ricardo Rodriguez, Laxalt, Calabria and Paqueta are all expected to depart.
