MN: Milan’s probable XI to face Lecce – three changes from Napoli game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to make some changes to the starting line-up for the game against Lecce compared to the team that played against Napoli in midweek.

According to a report from MilanNews, there will be a change in the defensive department given that Davide Calabria is suspended, and Alessandro Florenzi is expected to take the right-back spot alongside Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez in defence.

Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic should both get the nod in midfield with Ismael Bennacer again playing ahead of them as the attacking midfielder just as he did in both legs against Napoli.

In attack, Junior Messias is tipped to come in for Brahim Diaz who would rest, with Rafael Leao down as the left winger and Olivier Giroud the centre-forward.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Messias, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Subs: Mirante, Tatarusanu, Thiaw, Kjaer, Gabbia, Ballo-Touré, Pobega, Vranckx, Bakayoko, Diaz, Saelemaekers, Adli, Rebic, De Ketelaere, Origi.

  1. This is it. We need consistency and we have found the best posssible formation for the mean time. Bennacer was destined to be Kessie’s replacement, the replacement we thought we would need to bring in from outside. Physicality-wise, Kessie is superior. Technicality-wise, Bennacer is superior. Kessie overwhelmed opponent’s playmaking midfielder with strength. Bennacer does that with skills and wit.

    1. Lol bro Kessie is better both technically and physically. Not because he was a far better physical player didn’t mean he didn’t have technical skills.

  2. Kessie’s part of the field was always a guaranteed lock down, game in game out. That ability can never be replaced. It’s a shame. Plus he could score some goals as well.

  3. Play CDK on the right, not Messias ffs. He will flourish there. If not, we basically write him off already because there is no other place in this set up for him. Just give the boy a chance and show confidence in him.

  4. Stop the criticism..fed up with it …many said Oliver Giroud could no longer lead the line ,but his influence skill technique and physical strength awesome..
His awareness and hold up play creates space for others ….Rafeol leao another one who has had criticism has been incredible and links up so will with Giroud …Oliver has got lots have games in him .He also has immense belief in his team and indeed himself..Who would have imagined that we would be in the semi finals of the champions leauge ..well I did .
I think we will make the final ,if we do that’s enormous success..Yes remember we one the scuddeto last season …our defence has been so solid in the last few games ,,and it has been said the best form of attack is having a good defence ..Yes it’s going to be difficult getting into the top four in the league this season due to the fact that juventus have been given the 15 point deduction back ..but we can still do it ..we will need that man Olivier now as much as before ,and of course rafael leao and our whole team .We have a great squad and great manager in Stefani pioli ..
We are AC MILAN …all things are possible.
    Keep believing.
