MN: Milan’s probable XI to face Panathinaikos – strong side with one doubt for Pioli to resolve

AC Milan are expected to field a strong staring line-up for Saturday’s final preseason friendly against Panathinaikos, according to a report.

The Rossoneri ran out 6-0 winners against Pro Sesto in the first friendly of the summer and 5-0 against Modena in the second, but they failed to beat any of OGC Nice, Valencia or Real Madrid. Milan will take the field in Trieste on Saturday evening for their last pre-season friendly as Greek side Panathinaikos will face the Rossoneri.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Pioli intends to field a strong XI ahead of the Serie A opener on August 23 with a back four of Theo Hernandez, Simon Kjaer or Alessio Romagnoli, Fikayo Tomori and Davide Calabria in front of Mike Maignan.

The double pivot of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer should return while Rafael Leao should be on the left, Brahim Diaz the playmaker and Alexis Saelemaekers on the right wing behind Oliver Giroud as the centre-forward.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer/Romagnoli, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
