MN: No alibis for Milan despite heavy absences – must-win for Scudetto race

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have a tough task ahead of them, taking on Inter in the Derby Della Madonnina later today. The scenario is pretty similar to last season as the outcome of the game will decide a lot in the Scudetto race.

It has been stated many times in the last few days, but for the sake of the article, Milan are currently four points behind the Nerazzurri. The difference between a win and a loss for the standings, therefore, is significant.

As highlighted by MilanNews, Stefano Pioli will have to make do without some important players this evening, namely Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ante Rebic and Simon Kjaer. Fikayo Tomori has recovered, remarkably, but he’s not expected to start.

Having said that, though, the manager and the Rossoneri have no alibis whatsoever as they need to get the win to keep the Scudetto race alive. It’s an opportunity to show that they are stronger than the absences, which they have done before.
