MN: Pioli gives Milan players two days off following win against Lazio

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan came away with all three points from their clash against Lazio on Friday evening, thanks to Noah Okafor’s late goal. It was a crucial win for the Rossoneri and the players have now been granted two days off, a report claims.

Stefano Pioli and his men didn’t have the best of games, truth be told, but made the most of a Lazio red card as they found the winner. It wasn’t easy, however, and it’s clear that a lot of work still needs to be done on the tactical front.

According to MilanNews, Pioli has given the players two days off following the win, meaning training will resume on Monday again. It makes sense despite the Europa League clash on Thursday, having played the Serie A game (vs. Lazio) much earlier than usual.

Milan are finally coming out of their injury struggles as well and giving the players enough time to recover after such a hard-fought win is crucial. Then, once training restarts on Monday, they will be full of energy and concentration to take on the Slavia Praha preparations.

Empoli are also on the cards next week, with that game scheduled for Sunday afternoon, and it remains to be seen how the standings will look then.

    1. Have an impression that Pioli doesn’t care about Serie A anymore. Top 4 is almost guaranteed. There’s video on Twitter of a very cold handshake between Pioli and Ibra after Lazio game, almost as if Pioli didn’t want to shake his hand at all.
So yeah, probably Pioli’s focused only on EL, it would open doors for his next team …

  1. 2 days off. Might as well give them 6 days off, let them show up on sunday, just 15 mins before empoli game.

  2. 2 days off for an abismal performance. Well, from game play it doesn’t seem they do any important thing in training. Soon it will be Pioli fully off.

  3. The ref and Lazio took the spotlight away from the abysmal tactical display of Pioli and Milan. They played a horrible match.
