MN: Pioli publicly declares his trust in Kessie despite contract saga rumbling on

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has made it clear in the last couple of games that he has full trust in Franck Kessie despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

MilanNews writes how Sunday was an almost perfect evening for Pioli’s side as they overtook Inter in the table and moved back into second behind Napoli, having won six of their first seven games this season.

The Rossoneri may perhaps be beginning to dream of a Scudetto challenge, and the midfield has become a big area of strength for the team. Sandro Tonali was partnered by Kessie last night, a sign from Pioli that amid the whirlwind of rumours, speculation and even controversy about the lack of a renewal, he still has faith in the Ivorian.

“He played an amazing game, he is a very strong player,” the head coach said, providing a public declaration of trust in the 24-year-old – as Paolo Maldini did pre-match – which may even help renewal talks.

      1. When I was working I was working for money of course….But I was not a footballer…that is something different….If you have a decent salary that you can live more than well on, you do not need to have indecent salary demands if you are a real football player who not only plays for yourself but also for the club …

  1. We all work for money of course. He was gold when playing for 2 million. Ronaldo got 31 million form juve, dybala gets 11m.. this is modern football. But my opinion 5million is enough for the sustainibilty of team and the balance of others salaries. Milan should guarantie the renewals Egem they first sign the player. They should find a way. No other teams have this problem nowadays. Why Milan? And why these days?
