MN: Pioli wants to experience new stadium as Milan could discuss renewal shortly

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli has done a fantastic job at AC Milan and after seven games, they have collected 19 points. It’s safe to say he didn’t have to go into this international break with a lot of stress, seeing as they have started very strong.

The manager was hired by two clubs two years ago on the day, and it has been quite the journey for the Rossoneri since. Indeed, with the current contract expiring in 2022, a renewal is in the pipeline for him.

During an interview at the Festival of Sport on Thursday, which you can read here, Pioli revealed that he wants to be the Milan manager when the new stadium is inaugurated. As we know, that won’t happen before 2025.

According to MilanNews, there is a clause to extend the deal until 2023 but it’s also possible that Milan could sit down with Pioli and discuss the renewal in the coming weeks. The new deadline could be 2024 and a salary increase is expected.
