MN: Platense want €8m for Pellegrino – Milan seeking to lower price

AC Milan have a list of three or four centre-back profiles to sift through and they have learned the asking price for one of them, a report claims.

According to what it being reported by MilanNews, the Rossoneri management have Marco Pellegrino of Club Atletico Platense on their list of targets for the central defender role.

However, they add that the 21-year-old – who has an Italian passport – is part of a shortlist of three or four profiles that the club are looking into.

Platense’s first request for Pellegrino is €8m while Milan are looking for a lower outlay, so some work will have to be done in negotiations with the Argentine club.

Pellegrino is a centre-back who can play either on the right or the left side and he has made 17 appearances this season so far for the Liga Profesional team, while he can also play as a defensive midfielder if needed.

        1. I’ve noted that but this is a player of high future potential and transfermarket often doesn’t take that into account. Also he has an Italian passport.

          1. absolutely and if the scouts like him i wouldnt oppose that deal either and he is also left footed which could come handy.
Even though 8 mil would be 20 times what he is valued by them, more expenssive south amricans often is sold for 3-4 times transfermarkts valuations whereas the cheaply valuated ones goes for many times their valuations so it defently occur fairly often but south american players generally also has a great increase in their valuations after playing a few games in europe,

  1. Not sure I understand this signing OTHER than he has an Italian passport. IF we are worried about CB depth because we are moving Kalulu to RB – then we should have just kept Gabbia (and I am not a fan of his at all) who although is still green at least knew and played in the league. Not sure what this kid will contribute to the team THIS season. Perhaps for the future but we need some help now. Should have signed Singo when we had the chance for a reasonable fee and then just kept Kalulu at CB. Another risky and strange decision by management…

    1. Yea but Kalulu at CB doesn’t inspire confidence – he’s been inconsistent like Tomori. maybe it’s damage control playing him as RB.

As for a new CB, I agree it should be someone more Serie A experienced and ready. Because then Gabbia departure didn’t make sense.

  2. Some inconsistencies in the logic of the management team. Kalulu had some bad moments at CB last season (part 2) but a lot of the team misfired, which is why we struggled. He was CB in the Scudetto winning season and deserves to be an option when we need cover. RB is still a big concern, where we have injury prone Florenzi and an inconsistent Calabria – Singo would have been a good option here..
