MN: The players Milan should keep and sell this summer

By Euan Burns -

It has overall been a poor campaign for AC Milan that could look better in the record books than it really was. The Rossoneri are in the top four but only because Juventus were handed a 10-point penalty on Monday night.

As detailed by Milan News, there could be an overhaul of the squad next season and there are three players that should be kept, and another three that should be sold.

The report claims that Charles De Ketelaere, Malick Thiaw and Yacine Adli should stay at Milan. The first and third of those players have made almost no contribution, but they are young enough to deserve patience.

In terms of who Milan should be cashing in on, there is Divock Origi, Ante Rebic and Tiemoue Bakayoko. All three players are on wages that Milan would love to recoup and apart from Rebic, they have made almost no contribution all season long.

  1. This article is flawed by faults. 1) Rebic has unfortunately made no contributions this season and he should rightfully leave. 2) whereas CDK has also made no contributions this season, he should also leave if we are able to recoup most of the money we spent on him. 3) Bakayoko is not as cash-in player as he is loaned, however we should and must save money from his wages as he shouldn’t be renewed or signed. 4) maybe we should loan out Adli as he hasn’t been given many opportunities or maybe be sold outright.

    1. CDK will not go anywhere. Milan can’t spent such an amount on a player and loan him out. They will give him second chance. We almost sold Leao and am sure by now ,we should have been biting put nails

    2. Mykailo Mudryk made no contribution after Chelsea spent over £70m to sign him from Ukraine.
      0 goals
      0 assists.

Can you argue if CDK is better than him this season or not?

  2. The player Milan should ‘keep’ that, unlike CDK, was demonstrating the ability to impact a Serie A match is Daniel Maldini.

Unfortunately he has lost momentum due to injury but he would be an extremely versatile cog next season playing as an AM, LW, SS and even RW.

I feel like his name is going to cause problems now. If he was just another athletic, sublimely talented, 189cm kid, not an Italian, I doubt he would even have been sent out on loan.

Being Paolo’s son he will now be held to a much higher standard. It’s not a good time for Paolo to be trying to convince management that his son is a player we should build a squad around. But Daniel is clearly capable of being a deputy in all of the roles described above as early as next season.

Maybe we should just spend 35m on him so there is more of a reason to have ‘faith’.

  3. Let us give him another chance and see whether he can make it this season. But, how our utmost desperation goes on CDK has not proven himself. As of Divock need to be sold coz he has not made any observable differences.

  4. Thiaw stay, CDK & adili go on loan . If you want to weaken squad next season then go make CDK stay and you must play him for his playtime
