MN: Positive updates arrive regarding Ibrahimovic and Bennacer ahead of Man Utd game

By Oliver Fisher -

Some good news has arrived for AC Milan on the injury front as two key players returned to training with the squad today, a report claims.

Head coach Stefano Pioli was without a number of key performers against Napoli as he continued to battle an injury crisis with Davide Calabria, Alessio Romagnoli, Bennacer, Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic all absent. Theo Hernandez and Hakan Calhanoglu came back into the starting XI but Simon Kjaer was rested, allowing Matteo Gabbia to make his first appearance since December.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Bennacer did the full training session on Monday morning with the rest of the team, suggesting that he is pretty much there with regards to a full recovery after the muscle issue he sustained in the first leg against Red Star.

Ibrahimovic, on the other hand, was divided between work with the team and a personal recovery programme as the Rossoneri started preparing for Thursday night’s match against Manchester United.

  1. Why in the world would you use injured players who need fitness after injury? You only force another injury ( bennacer case) and also they are not in good form after injury. If you have fit players give them a chance instead.

  2. Bennacer must not play more than 10 mins per game till he is fully fit….we have enough midfielders to wait for his recovery…..Leao needs to be benched….he is out of form and his attitude is not correct….Hauge would provide more strength and better finishing.
We need a formation change in Serie A….the 4-2-3-1 is not working anymore….maybe a 4-3-3 would be better…..Kessie,Tonali,Krunic in midfield…..with Saelaemakers,Brahim and Hauge in a front 3…..that provides some great pressing and more energy and can create better chances
