MN: Probable Milan XI to face Bologna – Pioli should not stray from a winning side

Similarly to reports before AC Milan’s fixture against Udinese, reports in the lead-up to the clash against Bologna suggest that there will be few, if any, changes from the side that beat Udinese.

MilanNews writes that Milan have found consistency in their results, and with that should come a consistent team selection. Especially given there have been no casualties recently on the injury front.

As such, Mike Maignan will start in goal and be defended by the common four: Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernandez. Whilst there have been goals conceded, there is confidence in their abilities as a unit.

In midfield, Tijjani Reijnders and Yacine Adli will shield the back line. However, if Ismael Bennacer is fit following his return from the African Cup of Nations he could start.

It comes as no surprise that Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao will start on the wings. However, Stefano Pioli is likely to name Ruben Loftus-Cheek behind Olivier Giroud in an attempt to be more aggressive from the get-go.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Hernandez; Reijnders, Adli; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud.
