MN: Probable Milan XI to face Dortmund – three changes from Fiorentina win

AC Milan will take on Borussia Dortmund tomorrow night at San Siro in a game that could well be decisive in their hopes of reaching the round of 16 in the Champions League.

There are still eight injury absences for Stefano Pioli to deal with (listed below) and that means that the choices for the game against the Bundesliga side are virtually locked in on the eve of the game, MilanNews reports.

Mike Maignan will retain his place in goal after battling flu to keep a clean sheet against Fiorentina, then a four-man back line of Davide Calabria, Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez will be ahead of him.

The midfield will feature Tijjani Reijnders and Rade Krunic as well as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has now fully recovered. It is likely that the Englishman will be used in a more advanced position than the other two midfielders, like he did to great effect against PSG.

On the wings it will be Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic – right and left respectively – while Olivier Giroud returns as the centre-forward given that his ban only applies to Serie A and not the European competitions.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Krunic, Reijnders; Chukweuze, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic; Giroud.

Bench: Mirante, Nava; Florenzi, Bartesaghi; Adli, Pobega; Chaka Traore, Jovic.

One yellow card away from suspension: Krunic.

Injured: Sportiello, Kalulu, Kjaer, Pellegrino, Caldara, Bennacer, Leao, Okafor.

  1. I was wondering where Chaka Traore was against fiorentina, so now i’m surprised to see him here – Was he injured?

I bet Krunic gets himself a yellow card and play an average game before we win qualification against Newcastle due to his suspension.

    1. Tactically, I wouldn’t bring in Adli if Krunic gets injured because he is not so good at defending. Pobegba would definitely be my sure bet.

        1. Your knowledge of the game is low, that’s why you want Adli to be in place of Krunic. Take a look at top clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City, the have strong marker and ball user.

Pairing Adli with Reinjder is like a suicide against a team like Dortmund that attacks a lot. We all know that both can’t really mark.

    2. Show some respect for our players as i could just as well pray for you to get injured in the morning traffic. Regardless whether you like the player or not support the team and players or get the f out.

  2. I think this might work. I want two goals from Chukwueze tonight. So glad RLC is back.

Really looking forward to tonights game!
