MN: Probable Milan XI to face Frosinone – Pioli faces uncertainty over selections

By Ben Dixon -

After the 2-2 draw against Bologna, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has a few difficult choices to make about his starting eleven to face Frosinone.

Following last weekend’s results, there are some areas that Pioli may look to alter in this weekend’s fixture against the Canarini, as reported by MilanNews.

Mike Maignan will start in goal, and for the majority, the defence in front of him will remain unchanged, with Theo Hernandez, Matteo Gabbia, and Simon Kjaer set to keep their places in the back four. The verdict over the right-back position has not arrived, but Pioli is expected to select Davide Calabria ahead of Alessandro Florenzi.

In the midfield, Ismael Bennacer has not recovered enough to start but he will play a part from the bench after returning to training on Thursday. Currently, Yacine Adli is seen as the favoured choice to partner Tijjani Reijnders, but Yunus Musah is also in contention.

The attacking set-up will not change. Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Rafael Leao will start behind Olivier Giroud.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria (Florenzi), Gabbia, Kjaer, Hernandez; Adli (Musah), Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud.

  1. Maybe Okafor should be in the starting 11 instead of Leao !? A little shock therapy to wake him up from lethargy and put that smile back on his face !

  2. It’s great seeing a regular starting 11 forming.

Who knows if they’re doing well some of the players who come back from injuries mightn’t get back into the side!

That’s what happened to Romagnoli and how we stumbled across the Tomori and Kalulu partnership.

  3. I love this starting eleven ..
At times unbeatable …Yes it’s good to have a regular starting side ,,,Olivier Giroud,,still the best man to lead the line …Rafeol leao is class ,,he makes things happen,,,but he does need to start scoring some goals .We are not having a bad season …Yes of course we should perhaps have done better,,but with almost our full squad back from injuries..We can raise the bar ..
