MN: Probable Milan XI to face Sampdoria – Castillejo to miss out; midfield duo reunited

By Oliver Fisher -

Following the draw against Atalanta in San Siro, AC Milan are back in action on Wednesday night against Sampdoria at the Marassi.

The Rossoneri will try to beat Sampdoria and hope that Roma can drop points in their next two as the race for fifth spot hots up, and Stefano Pioli will be able to count on the return of Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer, who are back after suspension.

As MilanNews notes, Milan will still not be able to count on Romagnoli and Conti, who are still out due to injury, but Theo Hernandez will again take his place on the left, with Laxalt back on the bench. Calabria, Gabbia and Simon Kjaer will complete the back four to protect Donnarumma.

The midfield pairing of Bennacer and Kessie will also return, and though Castillejo is fit again Saelemaekers should start on the right, with Calhanoglu, Rebic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic completing the attack.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Gabbia, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
