MN: Probable Milan XI to face Spezia – first ever league start beckons for Daniel Maldini

By Oliver Fisher -

Daniel Maldini could be set for his first ever Serie A start for AC Milan tomorrow against Spezia, according to a report.

According to MilanNews, the most interesting dilemma Stefano Pioli has is regarding the attacking midfielder role as in the morning session at Milanello, Maldini was tried in place of Brahim Diaz. It is therefore ‘very likely’ that his first start in the league will arrive, but Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao should keep their spot as both have no fitness issues, nor does Ante Rebic.

Sandro Tonali should get another start but Ismael Bennacer will be back on the bench as Franck Kessie should come in. The certainty is the defence it seems, with Mike Maignan to be protected by Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez.

Update: Sky are now reporting that Olivier Giroud is fit for fight and will start up front.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Maldini, Leao; Giroud.

    1. We need some rest before our schedule are tight… who else will replaces diaz, we dont have number 10 replacement. Dont just complain if u are a plastic fan

    2. We need to give each player minutes.Rotation has to happen to avoid injuries.IMO,Gabbia should also start.I would bring on Pellegri at Half time as well to rest Rebic.

  1. Perfect opportunity for the kid to show what he can do.He may succeed or fail.So what..??Anyone who doesn’t see this should start watching baseball.

  2. this rotation is crucial when we look at atletico madrid, we would need all the fire power against them, breaking a defence and such functional attacking lineup is no joke also getting him some playing time will boost up a lot of confidence

    1. I agree with this move.To avoid injuries in this heavy schedule..we have to rest guys like Rebic,Leao and Brahim who have been playing too much.
      Guys complaining are plastic.
