MN: Probable XIs for Atalanta vs. Milan – Tonali returns in only change

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face a tough early season challenge tonight as they make the short trip to Bergamo to face off against Atalanta.

According to MilanNews, Stefano Pioli is expected to make just one change to the starting line-up that emerged victorious against Udinese as Sandro Tonali has recovered from injury and should therefore slot back into the double pivot alongside Ismael Bennacer.

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini meanwhile is not expected to make any changes to the team that recorded a 2-0 win away against Sampdoria to begin the 2022-23 campaign. That means the familiar duo of Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata should get the nod to start up front, even though Ademola Lookman scored off the bench in Genoa.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

Probable Atalanta XI (3-4-1-2): Musso; Toloi, Okoli, Djimsiti; Hateboer, De Roon, Koopmeiners, Maehle; Pasalic; Muriel, Zapata.
