MN: Provocative statements and bad timing on the eve of Juventus-Milan – Raiola out of order

By Oliver Fisher -

Mino Raiola has once against provoked the ire of AC Milan fans with his latest statements and the timing of them, a report has claimed.

MilanNews relays some of the agent’s words from an interview with Rai Sport which won’t actually air until Monday, starting with Raiola’s version of events on how Gianluigi Donnarumma’s exit happened, hinting that he could have actually joined Juventus.

“I’m sorry for how Gigio was treated. He made a life choice, there was no betrayal. He could have left 4 years ago and he didn’t. Juventus? I think they still have a great regret for not having taken him. And not just Juventus,” he said.

Of course Donnarumma is the past now Mike Maignan is the present and the future, but these are still comments that are designed to provoke and antagonise. Ultimately the agent got the solution he wanted and the player joined a competitive team, so was there really a need to mention Juventus or any betrayal?

He went on to make even more baffling comments: “Romagnoli and De Ligt are among the strongest defenders in Europe. De Ligt has a contract, while Romagnoli expires next year. I think they could play together next year at Juventus, but be careful because De Ligt could also leave Juve at the end of the season. This is how the market works.”

A little over 24 hours before the big match at Allianz Stadium between the two sides, the agent of Milan’s captain is talking about him going on a free transfer to a rival. In addition to the obvious question of respect and morality, this is an issue that does not even concern Raiola yet, because until the six months prior to the expiry of the contract a player cannot have contact with other clubs.

The timing of the statements and the fact Raiola chose to say what he did says a lot about how he operates, and it has no doubt caused a stir in the offices of Casa Milan.

  1. Somehow in Italy there is always some media drama before Milan-Juve. If it’s not corriere than it’s this parasite.
Fatman has so many dealings with Juve, that it stands to reason, that it’s in his interess for them to succeede. No wonder he tries to stear **** up right before the clash. His basically on their payrole.

  2. No one cares what this obese imbecile has to say, once we get rid of Romagnoli and Ibra retires we should put a moratorium on any and all of his clients. Minimize the drama.

    1. ive been saying this for minimum the last decade that milan should implement within the contracts we sign that our players isnt allowed to sign for raiola while with us but im affraid its not the clubs stance and doubt it ever will be either. Mino should be seen as persona non grata in the entire football world as he is detrimental towards all the clubs he deals with.

  3. Raiola is a dirtbag. Being the agent of famous players and having millions will never change what people think of him, now and forever.

    1. Had to check up on that claim and you are nearly correct in your assessment from the looks of it but actually balotelli won the cl in 2009-10 season with inter. Propably the last time i’ll give raiola any credit though 😀
