MN: Talks ‘moving forward quickly’ after Milan’s player-plus-cash bid for Roma striker

AC Milan and Roma are locked in talks over a deal involving Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, with things reportedly moving quite quickly.

MilanNews reports that the management realised that this squad is anything but complete after the defeat against Parma, at least as far as the attacking department was concerned with Alvaro Morata out due to injury.

Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic have in fact shown that they are more useful off the bench, and they struggle starting up front alone. For this reason, Milan have returned to trying to give Paulo Fonseca another centre-forward after Morata, with Roma’s Abraham the name at the top of the list.

The negotiation between the two clubs is ‘moving forward quickly’ with ︎Milan offering around €5m as a cash sum plus Saelemaekers going the other way, a profile that Daniele De Rossi likes because his versatility and his work rate.

In addition, Abraham already has an agreement with Milan regarding salary, and there are just the final details to agree regarding personal terms.

The English striker played eight games in Serie A last season after recovering from a knee injury, while Saelemaekers spent the season on loan at Bologna where he did well but was not bought permanently.

    1. JAJAJAJJA JAJAJAJA JAJAJAJJA JAJAJAJA!!! A GIFT FOR GIAMPAOLO FONSECA JAJAJJA JAJAJAJJA 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤬🇵🇹

    2. Yeah total idiots because we actually managed to sell a player @ his market value, well played management, circulated rumours that Fonseca liked Salesmeekers (all us real Milan fans know how bad Salesmeekers IS), got rid of him and got Tammy.

Tammy is a 30-35m player and is the perfect counter balance to Morata, a player of the bench or starting, teams will fear his pace, power and finishing (provided he stays fit – for many a big IF)

Just get us Manu Kone as well and an 8/9 out 10 transfer window!!

      1. “circulated rumours that Fonseca liked Salesmeekers”

It’s amazing how you lot make up stuff in your head just because you don’t like the player. Fonseca said that himself in an interview while touring in USA. He also said he’d like to keep him.

    3. I just found out that Emerson has Spanish passport, so we can still sign 1 Non-EU player. If we sell Saelemakers and sign Chiesa we can still sign another ST without even having to get rid of Jovic.

Konate from Salzburg and Jonathan David who’s in his final year would be a great ending to mercato…

  1. Fxck, we are really scraping the barrel, first Emerson Royal and now this guy, unbelievable the cast offs we are picking up !!!
What happened to protecting the path of the Futuro ?? Get your stories straight management!!!!

    1. Abraham same Origi no different, and we lose Salemakers +10mill. Inter and Juve cant do better damage to us what do Ibra and co.

      1. Stop exaggerating, he’s nothing like Origi. Origi has never scored more than 8 league goals in a season. He’s technically limited. Abraham is vastly superior player. His highest tally is 17 in Serie A and 15 in the EPL. He’s close to international class. For €5 million, this is a bargain.

        1. Salad has no space in this team because he is not good enough. He is inconsistent at this point in his career. Tammy is a great addition to the team considering he’s also played with 3 of the starting 11. He is a great back up and might even start over Morata lol. If past injury he can be 80% of the player he was.

  2. Why don’t they sell their flop Musah? They waiting a price drop to minimum to sell him? There is even no need to replace him, just promote Eletu or someone ,no difference

    1. Eletu is a DM and he’s also short. RLC is a powerhouse and a genuine goal threat, even though his link up play is lacking. It’s Zeroli who can take his spot, but he’s not ready yet. Musah has this season to save his Milan career. I think he lacks the tactical intelligence to play in Serie A.

    1. And I thought you couldn’t say anything dumber than your last post. Boy was I wrong. Yes, Saleamakers and his 2 goals per season average is a more of as threat on the wing than Leao. The level of insanity on this site is unbelievable.
If you can get Abraham for Saleamakers , that is a no brainer and a huge win. The mental gymnastics people go through on here just to try and criticize management is crazy.

  3. Wrote this on the other article;

“But in reality many of his words don’t match with his action. He said players didn’t have age, yet in the season’s beginning he said our young players should be monitored and protected carefully. He said he needs a balance in the full back department, yet he signed Emerson. He said he will have a different approach in defense. In reality, well, this one is correct tho. We did defense differently, in a worse way.”

+ now he said he needed someone like Alexis in his team, integrating him well thru pre-season, just to see him gone on the season’s opening.

And the management still stand with their targeted & surgical transfer window bull***t. It’s all far from targeted and planned move.

    1. Ibra has clearly said that the transfer targets were chose before hiring Fonseca. Every action and statement of the management suggests that they are acting on their own on the transfer market, and the coach is supposed to just coach.
I’m not saying I agree with this approach, far from it, just saying that you shouldn’t blame Fonseca if he has no say in it.
The “Fonseca wants Abraham or Emerson” articles were just speculation from the media.

        1. The Emerson move by any metric doesn’t make any sense. That’s a mark against the management.

I don’t know if they were hoping he rediscovers his Betis form, or what …

  4. For some reason we seem to be drawn to other people’s rejects. OK pulisic was a success but how many others are? Plus we keep signing them on permanent deals, how on earth do we think we’ll offload the flops?

Bringing in Abraham seems a very short sighted move. I reiterate it should be loan with option (just like every other club does to us when they come knocking, eg Adli or Pobega or Kalulu or CDK or etc etc…)

    1. Some reason? The reason is clear: rejects cost less, they are “undervalued”.
It’s simple, sell overvalued players, buy undervalued ones, and then you win the Champions League, just like in the movies.
      Unless reality hits.

  5. Abraham is not the striker we needed but we simply can’t rely on Jovic and Okafor, who almost twisted his knee when he was trying to take a shot against Parma.
He should still be an upgrade.
I won’t miss Saelemaekers. He had genious moments in the past too, remember the 4-0 against Napoli? But then he returns to misplacing 5 meter passes.

  6. Some people must have short term memory to think saelemaekers is some superior player to both Abraham and chiesa lol. How Did his first start that wasn’t preseason go?

Abraham too, before his ACL injury he was Roma’s best player and if we can get him in place of jovic when Morata is injured at least we have a striker. Somebody who is big and gets involved and can actually do something up front. Im 100% in for this.

  7. Just when you thought our Mercato could not get any worse. And people (americans I suppose) defending the management and ownership, saying that people who criticize are either not real fans or that what can we know about managing a club, can they see it’s gamble after gamble. Yes some gambles can go right but if you are serious about running a club you don’t base the whole strategy on gambles

Coach a mediocre coach, main striker a guy who no fan from his previous clubs or his national team have in high regards because he’s just average. A RB that God knows how he managed to become a pro. Now we are going for a guy who the best contribution he can make for us is to stay injured and far away from the pitch. So far the only sensible transfers seem to be fofana and Pavlovic.

Then you would think we learnt from the CDK fiasco, but no. These brain dead people keep giving the most amicable terms to anyone. Loans with option to buy for ridiculous low prices. Adli is gonna be the new CDK in one year. And now that all the teams have the blueprint of how useless our management is I won’t be surprised if fiore asks for a steep discount.

It’s really infuriating what is going on with Milan.

  8. Why we are doing this, is the fact that we are locked by leao.
Something like it is a MUST to always play him. I really hate this situation.
I dont understand why the project is built around him.
By having him the squad, we have to play 4231/433, and then do trials on the mid every week with different setup.

Why not 442 or 352 or 4312 or 532 with okafor and jovic duo? Maybe camarda will have his chance too by playing double attacker.

Take leao out and get a better picture, stop thinking he is our saviour.

  9. I don’t know what to think about this swap deal… Abraham is from big injury , but we need striker … and salad has a good preseasson, but … he is still salad, Yes he is versatility player but (for me ) mediocre…

  10. “a profile that Daniele De Rossi likes because his versatility and his work rate.”

Work rate? Sooooooooooooooooo overvalued in Milan. The club seems to reward people with minimal effort. They don’t even need to fight for their starting spots. But Adli, Saelemaekers & co who are willing to do what ever is needed will be sold ASAP before they contaminate the team with their work rates.

  11. Bring Abraham, give Salamanda, and then Jović is redundant and should be got rid of. It cost nothing and give it to someone. If Abraham was to be substituted for Jovic without Salamanda, then it is an understandable job.

    1. Relax bro, it’s all a proces to get 20th scudetto with limited budget to beat serie a club. If it’s not working, there’s always coach to blame not the owner or management..

  12. hahahaha. company Red Bird should change name for Red Game Over. complete idiots. Ibra game over, you have nothing to say in RB vision. let’s hope Maldini come back soon with new company…
    .
but let’s start supporters’ protest first. I definitely fed up because of these rubbish management. mega idiots.

    1. You dont have support for that…curva sud is just a curva…they sell their asses to any owner that will give them facilities…been inside that curva already…nothing warm and fuzzy in that curva

  13. My god though; some of you constantly in the comments with the negativity. Saelemakers is mediocre at best. Tries hard but lacks the quality especially in final third. We need a striker and Okafor and Jovic aren’t it. If Tammy can even be half of what he was it’s a win win. You need the horses. As someone else stated after Tammy if we get Rabiot or Kone it’s a very good mercato!

  14. It seems this website is like honey(but not suprising seeing how crooked it is)for so many of the Jerry’s funboys and ass lickers..25 mln for a muppet…and there are idiots over here considering Yammy in my tammy is worth 30-35 mln…clueless morrons…so many strabge aprroaches from this management, italian authorities should do their job better…strange sht happening around this crooks

  15. Never been much of a Tammy Abraham’s fan, but heck, better him than nothing… we are in need of options upfront, so I guess this is indeed a good piece of business.

  16. People say Saele is sh*t, a 2 goals a season guarantee but Chuk, our most expensive one trick pony from last summer transfer window with 2 goals to his name in this shirt is a world beater. What a biased bunch.

  17. I’m lost for words. Not an Abraham fan. Thought we were going to keep Saelemaekers, now, we are offloading him for Abraham. I guess it’s not fully in the coach’s hands. Anyways, he is getting what he needs the most. I just hope it works out well.

  18. Tammy isn’t the answer. I don’t see him as the efficient specialist we need up top. Not confident he can reproduce his goal production. but oh fkn well. I hope I’m wrong. but would rather have a striker on the rise.

  19. I’m not a huge Abraham fan – BUT – he is better than the alternative which is doing nothing and relaying on Jovic again. So rather have Abraham than Jovic as back up to Morata that’s for sure – but we should not be scrambling for scraps this late in the window.

This is just ANOTHER example of poor planning BY MANAGEMENT. As many of us were screaming months ago – this position should have been the first dealt with.

2 days left in the transfer window and we are left with little choice for the most position on the pitch.

    Amateur hour.
