MN: Recoveries and absences condition Pioli’s choices ahead of Juventus game

After a two-week break spent mostly talking about off-field scandals, football is finally back and AC Milan resume their Serie A campaign with a big game against rivals Juventus.

As MilanNews report, Milan will be without Ismael Bennacer (who returned to Milanello this week) and Mattia Caldara for the game as was known prior, but the break allowed Stefano Pioli to get both Pierre Kalulu and Rade Krunic back.

Both will be available for tomorrow, even if they will start on the bench and then possibly come on during the game with an eye on the matches in Paris and Naples to come after.

However, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has not fully recovered. The Englishman will not be called up and is aiming to return to the squad for the Champions League game in midweek.

Two new injuries have occurred, however. Samuel Chukwueze suffered a muscle problem with Nigeria and will be out for a month, while Marco Sportiello will not be able to replace the suspended Mike Maignan due to a calf issue that will keep him out for two months.

Pioli should opt for the following lineup against Juve: Mirante in goal, Calabria and Florenzi as full-backs with Tomori and either Thiaw or Kjaer  as his partner. Adli should be the regista with Musah and Rejinders mezzali, then Pulisic, Leao and Giroud as the attacking trident.
