AC Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez is close to joining Serie A rivals Napoli, according to a report from MilanNews.it’s Anto Vitiello.
Having negotiated an agreement with Milan and the player over a deal for Rodriguez, Fenerbahce seemed like they had beaten competition from PSV to land the full-back.
The Turkish Football Federation imposed a restriction on Fenerbahce signing players due to FFP, however that was then lifted and the deal was expected to go through.
However, our mercato correspondent Vito Angele told us on Tuesday morning that the deal which would send Rodriguez to Fenerbahce has halted and that there is currently no possibility for a transfer to Turkey.
Now, MilanNews.it’s Anto Vitiello – among other sources – is reporting that Rodriguez is in fact closing in on a move which would see him reunite with former boss Gennaro Gattuso at Napoli.
The formula of the deal would be a loan with an option to buy, and Vitiello adds that Milan already have his replacement in mind, with Antonee Robinson among the names but not the only possibility.
Il #Napoli ad un passo da #Rodriguez in prestito con diritto di riscatto. Il #Milan ha già il sostituto (non solo #Robinson tra i nomi)
