MN: Milan duo to miss Rapid Wien friendly with exits now imminent

The AC Milan squad will soon depart for Austria ahead of this evening’s friendly against Rapid Wien, but a report has revealed that they will be two men down.

The team will take off from Malpensa Airport soon in the direction of Vienna in view of the first summer friendly scheduled for today at 17:30 CEST at the Allianz Stadion against Rapid Wien.

According to what MilanNews are reporting, both Jan-Carlo Simic and Luka Romero will not be on the plane carrying the squad and in both cases it is because they are close to sealing moves away.

Fabrizio Romano reported last night that a move to Anderlecht is imminent for Simic, and the Belgian club will pay €3m while Milan will retain a 20% sell-on clause.

Meanwhile, Romero is set for a return to LaLiga where he spent the second half of last season on loan at Almeria. This time he will join Deportivo Alaves on an initial loan deal, but it includes an option to buy.

In order to prevent injuries and perhaps to get the final few details sorted in each of the respective operations, the centre-back and the winger will remain at home and will play no part in this evening’s game.
