MN: Spurs winger not currently a summer target for Milan despite other reports

By Oliver Fisher -

There have been reports doing the rounds claiming that Steven Bergwijn is a concrete target for AC Milan ahead of the summer window.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that the 24-year-old Dutchman is being monitored closely by Milan as they deem him to be a perfect fit for Stefano Pioli’s style of football given his strengths are dribbling and speed, but his favoured left wing position is occupied by Rafael Leao at the moment.

An ankle injury slowed his rise and he has not always convinced the coaches who arrived after Jose Mourinho – namely Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte – while purchase of Dejan Kulusevski has now also reduced his playing time.

According to the latest from MilanNews though, there is no confirmation that has arrived regarding Milan’s interest in Bergwijn. In fact, they add that the player to date is not part of the Rossoneri’s transfer plans for the summer window, despite what other sources are claiming.

  1. Bergwijn isn’t the answer, all he has is pace, he isn’t a good finisher or assist provider, Messias might not have his pace but he is a better player, I would put Bergwijn on the same level as Samu and Alexis Saelemaekers, although I do put Samu above Saelemaekers as he has better end product.

    1. You put Bergwiyn on the same level as Samu and Saelemakers but at the same time your initial description of Bergwiyn as all he has is a pace , not a good finisher or assist provider sounds like you described Leao who also has pace and is a bad finisher and bad assist provider

    2. Did you just say that Messias is a better player than Bergwiyn. Have you even seen Bergwiyn play? Messias is not a better player than saelemakers. All he has over Saelemakers is better finishing, in every other aspect of the game Saelemakers is better than Messias
