MN: Steps forward taken by Milan and Inter in project to bridge ‘huge’ gap to Europe’s elite

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter have taken a step forward in talks with the Council over the construction of a new stadium, according to a report.

In the latest column on MilanNews by Antonio Vitiello, the journalist remarks that the stadium theme is seen as fundamental for the club’s project moving forward, and Elliott Management have certainly been pushing for it as a next step.

The difference with other European clubs in terms of revenue is ‘huge’ and that is why the construction of a new stadium cannot be delayed further. There was another between Milan, Inter and the Council yesterday and what filters from the meeting is that a step forward was taken and there is greater optimism about the project, but further meetings will be needed to reach a meeting point.

Mayor Sala actually spoke on the issue, and remarked as follows: “The desire to move forward is obviously necessary to make the interests of everyone in the community satisfied, we are looking for a solution that can be compatible. I understand the reasons for the teams, to compete internationally you need a modern system. If there are steps forward on both sides, we can reach a conclusion.”
