MN: Striker set for Milan medical on Friday – management also targeting Santos sensation

AC Milan are finally set to welcome a new striker in Olivier Giroud but are unlikely to stop there, according to a report.

MilanNews reports that the final bureaucratic details between Milan and Chelsea for Olivier Giroud’s arrival in Italy have been resolved and tomorrow the Frenchman is expected in the city before beginning his medical on Friday. The Rossoneri management wanted to sign him on a free transfer but the unilateral renewal of Chelsea delayed the purchase.

Milan have closed the deal at €1m plus €1m in bonuses, maintaining their excellent relationship with the Chelsea management. Giroud meanwhile has a two-year contract with an option for a third year, set at €3.5m plus bonuses per season.

However, Giroud may not be the only striker to arrive as Milan are working to sign Kaio Jorge del Santos in January. The player would arrive in the winter market on a free transfer but in order to secure the 19-year-old Brazilian talent Milan must beat the competition.
